Catch 22?

Hello,

I currently have a score of 550 (from Experian) and I have 100% credit and 0 debt. I have 3 closed accounts that should be removed by first quarter 2013. I haven't tried to get any credit in a while, but I was getting turned down.. I'm not sure a 550 will get much credit anywhere, but I've seen things online saying some places will give you a card or a car loan but with a very high rate, not sure how true this is.

How can I get a credit line when nobody will give me a credit line, as I have no credit?

It seems like a nasty circle.

I am in the process of rebuilding my credit and most of the collections on my file are ready to drop off within a year. The exception, however, is two medical bills in collections from my wife. These were for visits to a doctor and the emergency room a couple years ago. However, I was not the patient and do not feel these should be permitted to be reported on my credit file.

Delete Tradeline or Not?

Help! I'm a little unsure what to do. I'm settling with my mortgage lenders and have an opportunity to delete the tradelines. However, their attorney was saying that it may be better for my credit score to have the tradeline go into a "paid" state (even if there's a history of 180 late payments) than have it deleted. Is this true? Also, on my primary mortgage, it also says 180 late--should I try to get that tradeline wiped and just start fresh? (Both lenders have mortgage about 6 years old.)

After you have paid 60 payments on your loan and it has matured, can the bank repossess your car for back fees. They want me to make regular payments until the rest is paid and finished. Is this legal?

charge off reported on credit report

My husband defaulted on his credit card by 150 days back in 2010, in that same year his account was sent to a debt collector and since June 2010 we agreed to have the payment taken directly out of our checking account. For the first couple of months the monthly payment was higher to cover the past due amount and then the payment dropped once the past due's amount was reached. So 20 months have gone by and now the credit card company has issued a "charge off" for January 2012 stating that he is past due $379.

I have an old account from First Premier which was charged off. I sent them a PFD letter, and they responded telling me to contact First National Collection about the account.

I then received a letter from First National...This letter says "FNC as acting agent for First Premier Bank has agreed to accept 500.00 as settlement in full on the account."
"Upon clearance of your payment we will notify our client so they can update their records accordingly, as well as update the proper credit
reporting agencies."
