I got a strange email from an ex roommate who owes me money asking for my address so she could "wire" the money to me. She recently had a judgement filed against her by our former landlord for past rent due him. I suspect she is going to try to file against me, hoping I won't show up for court and get an automatic judgement against me. I have moved out of state and did not give her my forwarding home address, just a P.O. Box. btw, I do not owe her any money, so it would be a frivolous lawsuit.
I've been trying to remove late pays I have on an old account that I settled out. What is the best strategy to go about this?
So long story but like many others I am a single mother who ended a relationship with my credit in despair. Now after a year I have stabilized financially and able to start building myself back up. I started by pulling my credit report after now the work begins. I am embarrassed to admit my score dropped from the 600s to now 498! It appears that I have approximately 98,000 in debt...3500 in hospital bills turned over to debt collectors, 1,500 in other random debt collection bills. The remaining in many student loans. I am successfully employed and simply became so overwhelmed.
Overwhelmed with the debt, I don't know where to begin. Most of it is 2years and older. Including credit cards from when I first turned 18, tmobile bill, and hospital bill. Please help!
My car loan has been paid. Made 72 pymts. Now they want $2500 more, stating this is interest. I made all my pymts and dont understand why they want more money. I even paid all late fees and they are placing interest on top of late fees. They are threatening to charge off my account. What should I do. They hang up on me all the time and nobody ever explains why I still owe all this money. HELP!!!!
I am paying down some debt to better my debt to income ratio. How important is it to pay down the overdraft credit line I have with my checking acct? Or should I focus on credit cards.thanks

BOA acquired my mortgage from Wilshire Credit (out of biz) since the aquisition, both items for the same loan are listed on my report? How do I get Wilshire off?
Here is the situation. About four years ago, I moved to Europe. I had three credit cards in American with two different companies..only because two of my credit cards were sold to another company from my original company....while they were current.
I signed for an RV with my ex. We broke up 5 years ago but remain friends. My ex has solely made all payments, on time for the last 5 years. Is ther anyway to remove me from that loan? It is negative in equity so a re-fi is not possible.
